Hauts-de-France, home to Croix, Gravelines, and Roubaix, is the industrial heartland of OVHcloud and accounts for 14 of the company’s French facilities. This region’s advantage is historical as much as geographic: the company acquired a dilapidated industrial site in Roubaix, in the north of France, to host its head office and first data centers, taking advantage of cheap former-industrial land in a textile region hollowed out by deindustrialization. The Gravelines campus, roughly an hour from Roubaix, extended that model onto a coastal industrial site with proximity to one of France’s largest nuclear power plants, enabling access to stable, high-capacity energy supply, while both campuses benefit from the region’s position near the Belgian border and key European transit routes — close connectivity routes between Paris, London, Brussels, and Amsterdam.
