France’s eight confirmed facilities make it Orange Business’s largest single-country footprint, but the portfolio is in the middle of a major consolidation. Orange has said that by 2030 its 17 historical data centers across the country will close, with hosting activity concentrated onto a small number of new flagship sites such as the Normandy and Centre-Val de Loire campuses. In a related move, Orange has agreed to sell a stake in five of its French data centers, spanning the Chevilly-Larue, Aubervilliers, Chartres and Val-de-Reuil campuses, to investment firm Morrison in a 50:50 joint venture aiming to scale that portfolio roughly tenfold to 400MW through a €3 billion investment program.
